A pre-Revolutionary War blacksmith shop which eventually closed its doors in 1959, the Old Millstone Forge was restored in the 1960s by the Millstone Forge Association. The shop is now open as a museum featuring smithing demonstrations and the history of blacksmithing. "Ripley's Believe It or Not" lists it as the longest continually operating shop in the U.S. The building is unusual in that it has two stories; most blacksmith shops only had one.

Surviving houses constituting the village date mostly to the following century and include a variety of architectural styles. This house is located in the Millstone Historic District and was designed in 1954 by Frank Lloyd Wright. It is an excellent example of the Usonian period and represents a culmination of Wright's efforts to redefine the true American house for moderate income families. Sections of the house had not been completed as designed, and it had been neglected for 20 years before the current owners' purchase. They began historical research, obtaining the architect's documents, correspondence, and photographs. It is now a house and architect's studio. Restoration included roof, colored floor concrete slab, balconies, concrete terrace, exterior and interior woodwork, restoration and reconstruction of Wright designed built-in furniture.

Van Doren House

The Van Doren house is an early example of a colonial era building. After the Battle of Princeton, Washington called a halt to his night-long march originating in Trenton, and set up camp at the John Van Doren house, while he himself became its guest. The future president, James Monroe, and the artist Charles Willson Peale, were among those who settled down in hay barns for the night. A Dutch barn associated with the farm stands just beyond the house down a straight lane.
