This waterfront park won a 1999 award for "Excellence of Design" for State/County/Regional recreational facilities. The site comprises 136 acres, 86 of which are considered wetlands. The Park consists of two Amateur Softball Association of America regulation softball fields, 1 baseball field, and 2 multi-purpose football/soccer fields. The fields have been provided with team benches and backstops, perimeter fencing, bleacher seating for spectators, below grade sprinkler systems and overhead lighting for evening use.

The bay also has a building consisting of: concession, comfort and maintenance facilities; a tot lot and seating area; a mile-long meandering paved roadway; and nautical theme landscaping. The focal point is an elevated three-tier gazebo which provides a breathtaking view of Raritan Bay and the New York Skyline.
